Egypt’s Ex-President Hosni Mubarak Sentenced  To Life In Prison   
Hosni Mubarak was sentenced to life in prison on 2nd June for failing to stop the killing of protesters during the uprising that forced him from power last year .And also given life term for the killings was Mubarak’s former Interior Minister Habibal-Adly, while six former police commanders were acquitted.

Nobel Slashes Cash Prize
The prize money given to Nobel laureates is to be cut by a fifth, the foundation behind the prestigious awards said on 11 June.currently prize money is 10 million crowns and it would fall to 8 million Swedish crowns ($1.12 million). The Nobel Foundation said the money for the awards, given for excellence in the fields of science, literature and peace. The capital that forms the base for the awards was donated in the will of dynamite inventor Alfred Nobel and is managed by the foundation, which was set up in 1900.

In one of the most significant auctions of Gandhi memorabilia,sotheby’s London in going to put honourable of letters,papers,and photograph which shed light on the life of mahatma, under the hammer on July 10.The archieve comprises five decades of correspondence.much of it previously unpublished,between gandhiand hermon kallenbach, a german-Jewish body builder and architect who became Gandhi’s closest friend after they met in Johomnesburg in 1904.one batch of letters between Gandhi and kallenbach had come up for sale in 1986 and the Indian government paid $140,000(rs.1.2 crore) for it.The papers are now with the national Archieves, and were published in Gandhi’s collected works in 1994.

Over 16,000 children below the age of five will miss their polio vaccines in North Waziristan tribal region of Pakistan due to a ban on vaccination campaigns by a powerful Taliban commander.Hafiz Gul Bahadur, the alleged host of the Haqqani network in North Waziristan Agency,militants had decided to ban the vaccination drive as long as US drone strikes continued in the region. This ban is because the vaccination campaign was a cover for American spies. Supreme Court Of Pakistan Debarred Pakistan Prime Minister Yusuf Raja Gilani From Office
The Supreme Court of Pakistan on 19 June 2012, debarred Pakistan Prime Minister Yusuf Raja Gilani from his office. The court’s ruling also disqualified Gilani as the member of the National Assembly, the lower house of the Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament). Gilani was convicted for violating the article 63(1) of the constitution of Pakistan on 26 April 2012 by the Supreme Court. The court’s verdict came following Gilani’s refusal to probe cases of corruption against Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari.

Andhra Pradesh Population Census
The official census 2011 of Andhra Pradesh has been conducted by Directorate of Census Operations in Andhra Pradesh.As per details from Census 2011, Andhra Pradesh has population of 8.46 Crore, an increase from figure of 7.62 Crore in 2001 census. Total population of Andhra Pradesh as per 2011 census is 84,665,533 of which male and female are 42,509,881 and 42,155,652 respectively. In 2001, total population was 76,210,007 in which males were 38,527,413 while females were 37,682,594.The total population growth in this decade was 11.10 percent while in  previous decade it was 13.86 percent. The population of Andhra Pradesh  forms 7.00 percent of India in 2011. In 2001, the figure was 7.41 percent.

Arunachal Pradesh, where around 13 percent of the population follows Buddhism, has got its first full-fledged Buddhist centre after Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. The Environmental Sustainable Index (ESI) 2011 released on 14 June 2012, appraised five northeastern states (Tripura, Sikkim, Manipur, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh) and Himachal Pradesh as the most environmentally sustainable states in the country. The index was released by Centre for Development Finance (CDF), affiliated to Institute for Financial Management and Research.Among larger states, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal performed poorly on maximum of environmental indicators while Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka received high ratings. States with rich natural resources like Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar were rated moderate in the chart.

India’s First River-lake link project launched In Bundelkhand
“The Madhya Pradesh government claims to have launched the country’s first ever river-lake linking project in the water-scarce Bundelkhand region. The Harpura irrigation and river-lake link project, launched in the Tikamgarh district, will be implemented under the Center’s Rs.7266 crore Bundelkhand package. It will link the perennial Jamni river to the nearby lakes and water bodies built during the Chandel era. Under the project, an additional 1,980 hectares of land are expected to come under irrigation.

Indians’ money in Swiss banks may have risen for the first time in five years, but they account for a meagre 0.14 per cent of total foreign wealth deposited there — putting India at 55th place globally for such funds.The total overseas funds in Switzerland’s banking system stood at 1.53 trillion Swiss francs (about Rs. 90 trillion) at the end of 2011, which included 2.18 billion Swiss francs (Rs. 12,700 crore) belonging to Indian individuals and entities.While India accounted for only 0.14 per cent of total foreign money in Swiss banks, the U.K. accounted for the largest share of little over 20 per cent, followed closely by the U.S. with about 18 per cent.

For the first rime, Scientist led by an Indian – origin researcher have successfully replaced a major blood vessel in a 10 year old girl with a vein grown in a lab using her own stem cells. The pioneering transplant, published in The lancet, marks a further advance in growing body parts in laboratory and offers hopes for patients who lack suitable veins for dialysis or bypass surgery.In the landmark research, a team from the University of Gothenburg in Sweden took a vein from a dead man, stripped of its own cells and then bathed in stem cells from girl, who was suffering from portal vein obstruction.There was a ‘ striking’ improvement in her transplantation. This is the future for tissue engineering where we can make tailor-made organs in the lab.
India Installed Nuclear Submarine
India has successfully installed nuclear reactor in the indigenous  nuclear submarine “INS Arihant’ on 17 June 2012 followed by trails. With the launched of INS arihant, India has already joined the league of those six nations who  operate nuclear submarines – US, Russia ,china ,France and Britain. India has , for the firsts time, built a miniature nuclear reactor.

Darjeeling is likely to be violent again as the high-power committee set up by Mamata Banerjee has recommended inclusion of just five mouzas under the proposed Gorkha Territorial Administration (GTA) sabha against Gorkha Janamukti Morcha (GJM)’s demand for inclusion of 398 mouzas.high-power committee headed by retired justice Shyamal Sen and said that the committee has recommended inclusion of three mouzas from Darjeeling district and two from Jalpaiguri district into the proposed GTA Sabha.
