after Shakuntala, the beloved wife of King Dushyanth. The locals also believe

perennial waterfall located in the Nagari valley near Tirupati in Chittoor
district originates from a fracture in a sheet rock. It is believed that name
of this waterfall is derived from the name of Shiva. Once Shiva was wandering on earth in search of Vishnu who also searching Padmavathi, Shiva and Goddess Lakshmi rested here for a
period. Shiva opened a plate from his
head and made a spring of water for satisfying his thrusts. He made this hill
as his permanent residence on Kailasha Parvata. Since the name of this
hillock is being called as Kailasakona.
