Mahama Re-elected as Ghana’s President
On 10 December Ghana’s incumbent President John Dramani Mahama of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has won the country’s presidential election.Mahama took 50.70 percent of the total valid votes cast, while his closest challenger,  Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) obtained  47.74 percent.With his re-election, Mahama becomes the fourth president to be elected under the Forth Republic.He had served as Ghana’s vice president since 2009.
UN, Pakistan Launched ‘Malala Fund’
Pakistan joined forces with the United Nations on 10 December 2012 to launch a fund aimed at boosting girls’ education throughout the world.The fund is named for Malala Yousafzai, the 15-year-old Pakistani girl.  Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari also  announced a $10-million donation for a global war chest to educate all girls by 2015 set up in the name of Malala Yousafzai for campaigning for girls’ education.
 Shinzo Abe Elected As Japan’s New PM
The former Prime Minister  and the Leader of LDP  Shinzo Abe elected as  a Prime Minister with a clear victory over the  Prime Minister  and leader of the Democratic Party of Japan(DPJ) Yoshihiko Noda in the Parliamentary Elections on 26 December 2012.The lawmakers in Japan voted in favour of Abe by 328 votes. Opponent Banri Kaieda, the newly chosen leader of DPJ received merely 57 votes.
 Jacob Zuma re-elected as South Africa’s President
South Africa’s ruling African National Congress on 18 December 2012 re-elected President Jacob Zuma as the party chief with a thumping majority. Mr.Zuma received the support of over 75 per cent of the total voting delegates at the ANC National Conference held in Bloemfontein. Juma was Deputy President of South Africa from 1999 to 2005

Pakistan Supreme Court annulled New Law Protecting the Prime Minister
Supreme Court of Pakistan on 3 August 2012 annulled the new law called Contempt of Court Act 2012(COCA 2012). Pakistan’s Supreme Court 3 August 2012 struck down a law designed to protect the new prime minister from being charged with contempt and thrown out of office like his predecessor. The court ousted the previous prime minister, Yousuf Raza Gilani, from office in June by charging him with contempt of court for failing to reopen corruption proceedings against President Asif Zardari.
OIC suspended Syria
The Organisation Islamic Cooperation(OIC) suspended Syria on 16th August 2012 saying the muslim world can no longer accept a government that “massacres its people”,further isolating the embattled regime.
Senkaku Islands became the Bone of Contention between China and Japan
Ten Japanese on 23 August 2012, made an unauthorized landing on Uotsuri, which is known in Japan as the Senkaku Islands and in China as the Diaoyu Islands. The uninhabited islands surrounded by rich fishing grounds are controlled by Japan but also claimed by China and Taiwan.The Senkaku Islands dispute engulfs in itself a territorial dispute on a group of uninhabited islands. Of the ten Japanese people who visited the island, five were apparently conservative local assembly members.The Senkaku Islands are located in the East China Sea between Japan, and the Republic of China. The archipelago contains five uninhabited islands.
Somalia Assembly Passes the Endorses Draft Constitution
Somalia Constitution on 1 august 2012 endorsed a draft constitution billed a key step to ending the decades of the civil war. The Horn of Africa country’s outgoing government hailed the end of an eight-year interim period. Prime Minister Abdiweli Mohamed Ali expressed happy and announced that Somalia has from now, left the transitional period. The special assembly chosen by traditional elders in a U.N.-backed process took eight days to debate and vote on the new Constitution, as the graft-riddled government approaches the end of its mandate on August 20.

Mexico Declares National H7N3 (bird flu)Animal Health Emergency
The Mexican government declared a national animal health emergency on 2 July 2012 in the face of an aggressive bird flu epidemic that has infected nearly 1.7 million poultry. More than half the infected birds have died or been culled, the agriculture ministry said of an epidemic that was confirmed on 28 June 2012  by the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). They activated a national animal health emergency… with the goal of diagnosing, preventing, controlling and eradicating the Type A, sub-type H7N3 bird flu virus.

India on 1 June joined 41 other countries at united nations human rights council (UNHRC) in Geneva to vote for a resolution “strongly condemning” the recent El-houleh incident, which resulted in the death over a hundred civilians including women and children.
Egypt’s Ex-President Hosni Mubarak Sentenced  To Life In Prison   
Hosni Mubarak was sentenced to life in prison on 2nd June for failing to stop the killing of protesters during the uprising that forced him from power last year .And also given life term for the killings was Mubarak’s former Interior Minister Habibal-Adly, while six former police commanders were acquitted.

The supreme court on 4 June suspended interior minister Rehman Malik from the senate (the upper house of parliament) for failing to produce the necessary documents to establish  that he had given up his British nationality.
Google’ Buying ‘Meebo’ To Help Social Networking Push
Google is buying silicon valley start-up Meebo to help expand its social networking service.The acquisition announced on 4 June will bring more tools to google plus,an alternative to facebook.Google has spent more than $16billion buying 140 companies since the end of 2009.The biggest deal in Google’s history of 14 years is buying $12.5 billion cellphone maker motorola.

The US Government announced an additional $12 .2million humanitarian aid for Syria as the second meeting of ‘ Friends of Syria’ held in Turkey’s largest city Istanbul. The US State department said that the new aid, consisting of medical supplies and other humanitarian relief for displaced and vulnerable Syrian communities. The US aid will be used to support the work of international organisation, including World Food Programme.

Nepal Calls For Help to Settle Mt Everest Height
Nepal is appealing to the international donors to help its finally settle, a long-running dispute over the height of Mount Everest, according to a Government official. The World’s highest peak, Which straddles Nepal and China, is usually attributed a height of 8,848 meters following an Indian survey in 1954, but other an American team using GPS technology, recorded a height of 8,850 meters. Everest was first measured in 1856. In 2010, Nepal and China reached a compromise under which Nepal measured the height of Everests snow cap at 8,848 meters and China measured the rock peak at 8, 844 meters.
US Court Dismissed a Lawsuit Against, Sri Lankan President
A US federal Judge on 1 March 2012, dismissed a lawsuit filed against the Sri Lankan President Mahindra Rajapaksa. The lawsuit alleged that the president Rajapaksa is responsible for human right abuses occurred during the civil war in Sri Lanka.
25 EU States Sign Pact For Budget Discipline
All but two European Union Countries signed a fiscal pact to tighten budget discipline on 3 March 2012, making a coup for Germany that pushed for the accord to prevent a repeat of the loose spending that led to economic crises. Only Britain and czech Republic did not sign the agreements , under which all other countries in the 27- nation blocks are to write a golden rule on balanced budget in national constitutions equivalent laws and automatic corrections mechanism, if the rule is breached.
